How We Prepare: Planning and Creative Direction Before the Shoot
The planning phase is where the magic really begins in Speak Your Language. You can expect a minimum of 3 weeks to plan this type of session, but many clients opt for 1–2 months of planning to allow space for creative development, deeper alignment, and time to source wardrobe or props that reflect their story.

To get us started, I’ll send over our signature deep dive brand questionnaire where you uncover your brand voice, energy. We’ll also go over your marketing goals and audience metrics.
Prep Materials 🎨
Visual inspiration boards, creative concepts, wardrobe, makeup, and location guidance. This is where we plan the creative direction elements before the shoot.
Logistics 📋
Studio time, prop sourcing, shot lists, set flow, location mapping. I will include a Call Sheet as we get closer to our session that includes a full shoot timeline, prop list, location logistics, and wardrobe notes so you know everything there is to know like what to bring and where to park before shoot day.

What the 4-Hour Session Flow Looks Like
Here’s what a typical Speak Your Language Brand Photoshoot day might look like:
Hour 1: Anchoring the Vision
We meet, settle in, and walk through the session plan. We align on intentions and start slow. We can also use the first hour for getting ready if you opted for a hair + makeup artist to glam you up for your session 💄
Hour 2–3: Shooting Across Spaces
Depending on your vision, we shoot in multiple locations or build varied scenes in one space. We’ll work through outfit changes, creative direction, posing, and scene building.
Hour 4: Video Capture + Final Portraits
If you’re including video, we capture intentional movement and brand-aligned video, behind the scenes, and more. We wrap with any final shots and close the session with clean up and care.

Do I need ideas for the video portion?
Nope! We will go over what you need video for and story board concepts together.
What if I’ve never been on camera before?
Perfect. Most of my clients haven’t. You’ll get guidance, gentle direction, and full support to help you feel confident and seen. I support all experience levels!
Can I hire a makeup + hair artist?
Yes! If you want to be glammed up for your session (highly recommend), I work with some very talented makeup + hair artists that would love to pamper you for your photoshoot.
This add on starts at $350 and covers the cost of the MUAH + the extra hour for getting ready. Please inquire for more details.
Can we shoot both indoors and outdoors?
Yes! We can customize the session depending on the your preferences and we’ll use careful consideration for things like weather, our concepts, and location availability.
Can I use these for launch campaigns and press kits?
Absolutely. This session is built for high-functioning brand use—whether you’re publishing a book, launching a course, booking podcasts, releasing new music, and more.
